The temporomandibular joint (the hinge joint on the sides of the head, in front of the ears, which enable opening and closing the mouth) is referred to as TMJ for short. TMJ dysfunction is a common condition that limits the jaw’s natural functions, such as opening the mouth, biting, or chewing. It can even cause clicking temporarily or chronically for years.
TMJ therapy can ease pain, regain normal jaw movement, and lessen everyday stress on the jaw. Symptoms of TMJ include jaw pain, jaw fatigue, difficulty opening the mouth or unable to open at all, difficulty chewing, pain with facial expressions, ringing in the ears, dizziness, popping sounds, and even neck pain.
